a diamond reflection,

multi-faceted,

but nary as precious as the real thing.

 

You carry my heart

like a candle flame for a prayer,

keeping your own unknown vigil.

Speaking my name as to render me

powerless in your arms.

Waving this white flag of surrender;

like ether to wipe away my furrowed brow of doubt.

Cast a shadow of deliverance

upon my tortured self.

 

Tossed ashore by wayward winds of my past
